Beauty in Black by Virake
Beauty in Black

Believe it or not, but this was the character I made in 'The Sims 4', a video game that everybody hates. I didn't find the gameplay to be particularly interesting, but I liked the look of the character I came up with. So, I took a screenshot and edited it. This is the result.

Jacket, gloves, skirt, eye shadow and pose are all community made, the rest is vanilla.

So it's spreading. Not likely to bother me, though (considering how often viewers visit my page).

Comment and I will...
1. Tell you something I learned about by looking at your DA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you a color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what movie, TV, or video game character you remind me of.
5. Ask you a question.
6. Tell you something I like about you.
7. Give you a nickname.
8. Tell you the object that is to the left of me.
9. Dare you to post this in your journal!

Thoughts aloud: 'I really need to put my scanner to work...'
I thought that the whole biography is too large for deviantID. So I decided to move it here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here goes my little biography. My English is… well, it is 'slightly' not perfect. So excuse me for any mistakes, please :)

I was born in the city of Kyiv, the proud capital of Ukraine, and started drawing since my earliest childhood. (Un)fortunately I didn't get any special art education. I was visiting some art course for a short time, but it was not very productive training (but I did gain some amount of skills there). So I may proudly say that most of what I learned about drawing I learned myself.

I'm also very lucky (or talented) - most of my successful works were done in short time and in one turn. This means: no serious preparation, no basic sketches, no second tries, etc. This big luck, as I recently realized, is also a big problem - I got used to easy success so badly that usually I don't put much serious effort in any work. I mean, if something goes wrong I usually give up continuing that. Because of that I can draw very thin range of things.

About 5 years ago I started making modules (it's like an addons) for Neverwinter Nights (it's such a computer RPG, best of all times, IMHO). Since that time I got insaniously obsessed by modulemaking. For example, now I am remaking one of my modules for a 6th time! And that's while I haven't finished even a single module (though some of the unfinished ones were large and almost done). Well, I actually finished one module - but that was just a proof of that I could ever finish a module.

About 1-2 years ago I started writing. It all started as humble tale about a rebel in the Half-Life 2 universe. I wrote (in Russian) three such tales and called it the series 'Poison in Blood' or 'The Memories of a Man'. There supposed to be a continuation, the next, 4th tale, but I didn't have an inspiration for making it. Just like that, the series was given up to be uncompleted.

After some pause and unsuccessful attempts of writing I finally approached to my main creations. This time I was writing in Ukrainian. The process itself was not interesting enough to write in details about it, so lets just say that in the end (now) I have one finished non-science fiction action story 'The Legion and Me' and two unfinished (the sequel to 'The Legion and Me' and a perfectly new story). The sequel is called 'Day by Day' (together with the previous story they form 'Memories from the Afterstar' cycle). The new, independent story is a dark fantasy tale, called 'Cold Wind'.

In all these tales I have a habit to torture my characters (figuratively and literally). My tales are full of light drama, action, horror and similar things… I don't know what to write further, so that would be all for now. Have a nice day! :)
